Final Push for Guild Park's Heritage Plaque Campaign

There's still time to contribute to a new Heritage Toronto plaque for Guild Park's Greek Theatre.

Dozens of park supporters have already contributed $7,020 of the $7,500 required for a permanent plaque that recognizes the historic landmark of marble columns and arches.

The Greek Theatre represents a significance part of Toronto's architectural history. Its hand-carved features are from the 1912 Bank of Toronto. That now-demolished ornate building had defined the city's financial district. Pieces from its facade were saved and redesigned as an outdoor perormance stage by Canadian architect Ron Thom

If you haven't yet contributed and would like to help put this plaque campaign over the top, this is your opportunity.

Only $480 is required to reach our goal. Any amount you decide to give brings this important plaque closer to getting installed at Guild Park in 2025.

Donations can be made on-line at https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/guild-park-greek-theatre-plaque . All contributions of $20 or more receive a charitable tax receipt from Heritage Toronto.

This will be the second official heritage plaque at Guild Park. In 2020, volunteers from Friends of Guild Park unveiled the park's first Heritage Toronto plaque. It recognized the historic Guild of All Arts, the artists' community founded on the site almost a century ago.
