The plaque tells how the historic 1912 Bank of Toronto building got transformed into a unique, ourdoor performance centre at Guild Park.

The plaque describes how an ornate Toornto bank headquarters was transformed into a performance stage, thank to the vision of philantropists Rosa and Spencer Clark.

The plaque is the latest initiative by the award-winning, not-for-profit, Friends of Guild Park, to bring important improvements to the 88-acre site along the Scarborugh Bluffs.

The plaque unveiling was part of the Guildwood Day festivities organized by the Guildwood Village Community Association (GVCA).

The event was hosted by Heritage Toronto and included local elected reps, Deputy Mayor Paul Ainslie and MPP Andrea Hazell.

Friends of Guild Park president, John Mason, described the Greek Theatre as a magical place enjoyed by thousands of people for performances, family celebrations and inspiration.

The $7,500 campaign for this plaque was organized by Friends of Guild Park in partnership with Heritage Toronto. All funding came from dozens of community and individual donors, including the Guild Renaissance Group, the GVCA, individual donors and Guild Park supporters.
