Take a tour of Guild Park's Theatre & Treasures - Sunday August 25 at 2:00 pm

Get the inside story of how the landmark Greek Theatre got built at Guild Park on the guided Sunday Stroll starting at 2:00 pm Sun. Aug 25.



You'll also hear about some of the site's other treasures - from cabins to columns to hand-carved keystones.


The walking tour will take about 60-minutes as you're guided past many of Guild Park's highlights by knowledgeable volunteers from the award-winning group, Frieinds of Guild Park.


The unique wonders of historic Guild Park, home of the former Guild of All Arts, are best enjoyed by knowing the stories behind the features.


Come to the Sunday Stroll an get acquainted with the artists, architects and artisans whose works live on throughout this park and formal gardens above the Scarborough Bluffs.


You'll also learn about community volunteers are making a difference when it comes to Guild Park's transformation. About a decade ago, a national heritage organization called the boarded up site an example of "demolition by neglect."


Today, Guild Park is place where "art meets nature." The site now welcomes more than 200,000 visitors a year for festivals, arts events, live performances, community activities and quiet walks by forest and shoreline.


The walk starts at the Guild Park's Sculptor's Cabin, 201 Guildwood Pkwy., Toronto, near the park's flagpole (watch for the signs and canopy). Lots of free parking on-site. A fun afternoon forall ages.
