A Curtain Call for Helen and Tyler

Tyler Seguin and Helen Juvonen receive a Certificate of Appreciation from FGP president John P. Mason at Guild Park’s Greek Theatre near the conclusion of the 2026 season.

As the successful 2026 season at Guild Festival Theatre came to a close, Friends of Guild Park president John P. Mason presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Helen Juvonen and Tyler Seguin, recognizing their remarkable contributions during their seven years as GFT’s co-artistic directors.

Since taking the helm in 2019, Helen and Tyler have produced more shows at Guild Park’s historic Greek Theatre than anyone since the outdoor stage was created in 1982. Through COVID restrictions, unpredictable weather and the continuing revitalization of Guild Park, they kept finding imaginative ways to make theatre happen — and audiences kept applauding.

Fittingly, both took a turn in the director’s chair during their farewell season. Helen directed Brontë: The World Without, while Tyler directed Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey, based on her novel.

Along the way, Helen and Tyler helped establish the Greek Theatre as something truly special: a remarkable outdoor performance space bringing professional cast and crew members before tens of thousands of theatre-goers from Guildwood Village, Toronto and beyond. Their productions earned Dora Awards, critical acclaim and, just as importantly, strong audience support.

FGP’s certificate to this dramatic duo recognized their “lasting impact on Guild Park, the Greek Theatre and our community.”

Helen and Tyler’s creativity, determination and sheer love of theatre literally brought the marble arches and columns to life ... and audiences to their feet.
