Jane's Walk arrived at Guild Park Friday evening (May 2) with more than a dozen community-minded participants taking part.
The group shared observations about what makes a vibrant neighbourhood as they toured some of Guild Park's features.

The walk is part of a weekend-long festival of more than 150 events across Toronto inspired by the late Jane Jacobs, an urban champion who advocated that the best cities put people first
Embracing the Spirit of Jane’s Walk
Jane's Walk is much more than a casual outing. Each volunteer-led walk is part of a grassroots movement that encourages local engagement and exploration. Participants are invited to discover their neighborhoods and share stories that highlight thriving communities
Hosted by members of Friends of Guild Park, participants shared stories about the close links between Guild Park, the hisotoric Guild of All Arts and the surrounding community of Guildwood Village.
Creating community connections through stories
This year's Jane's Walk at Guild Park highlights examples of how community voices continue to make an impact at the 88-acre site. Stories about the re-opening of the park's Sculptor's Cabin and the design and naming of the Clark Centre for the Arts show the influencial role that local residents have played in Guild Park's revitalization.

Jane's Walk participants also note that Guild Park requires ongoing attention so the site - and it's hundreds of features - remains spectacular and sustainable.
The second Jane's Walk at Guild Park takes place this Sunday afternoon (May 4) starting at 1:30. This is a free, family-friendly event and everyone is welcome. The guilded walk and conversation is scheduled to be about 60-minutes.
