Everyone interested in local gardens and wildlife is invited to the special Nature Talk program at Guild Park Saturday morning August 10th.
Be sure to come for these free informal talks by local experts who'll describe two nature-related events that will interest nature-lovers of all ages:
● Saving Seeds - Speaker: Sandra Bill. Sandra is an active member of Toronto Nature Stewards and a Butterflyway Ranger. She'll explain how to collect seeds this autumn and use them in gardens next spring. Starts at 10:00 am
● Migrations at Guild Park - Speaker: Ann Brokelman. Ann is a well-known wildlife expert and nature photographer who lives in Guildwood Village. She'll describe what to look for as pollinators - various species of birds and butterflies - converge at Guild Park for their annual flights south. Starts at 11:00 am
There'll be opportunities to ask Sandra and Ann about their experiences with gardens and wildlife. Also, limited quantities of free seeds/seedlings will be available to attendees on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event is at Guild Park & Gardens, 201 Guildwood Pkwy. Scarborough.
Drop by the Sculptor’s Cabin, near the park's front gates. Watch for the banners and canopies by the Guild Park's Native Pollinator Garden.
Lots of free parking onsite for bicycles and cars
To be sure of a comfy seat, you can bring your own folding chair.
A free event hosted by the Guildwood Butterflyway Project & Friends of Guild Park
