Friends of Guild Park

Welcome

We’re an award-winning not-for-profit organization that brings activities and awareness to historic Guild Park & Gardens (201 Guildwood Pkwy., Toronto), a place where Art Meets Nature

We started in 2012 as a group of dedicated volunteers focused on protecting, revitalizing and helping visitors enjoy the unique features of this park, located in east Toronto along the Scarborough Bluffs.

Our goal is simple:

To ensure Guild Park is a spectacular and sustainable

public destination that welcomes the world.

When Friends of Guild Park began leading tours and organizing park events, the site was full of abandoned landmarks facing "demolition by neglect."

Today Guild Park's 36 hectares (88-acres) of gardens, woods and waterfront are being transformed. The site is attracting more then 200,000 visitors annually for its:

  • arts festivals and performances,

  • inspiring views of Lake Ontario and the Carolinian forest, plus

  • one-of-a-kind architectural artifacts preserved from some of Canada's most notable, and now lost buildings.

This website lists details about Guild Park & Gardens' activities, attractions and amazing history.

When you're ready to see these efforts in action, we invite you to visit Guild Park and enjoy:

  • a guided tour of the attractions,

  • an exciting live performance at the landmark Greek Theatre,

  • a soul-satisfying stroll amind the gardens and woods

We welcome your comments.

If you think this work at Guild Park is valuable, you can help by giving a donation, getting a ticket for an event, or joining like-minded supporters as a member of Friends of Guild Park. Thank you.

Friends of Guild Park continues to advocate for better park operations and facilities. We note that in 2014 the City of Toronto began publishing a series of visionary plans to improve the on-site "visitor experience." Unfortunately, the priority initiatives recommended for Guild Park have faced more than a decade of delays and remain unfunded and uninitiated.

Friends of Guild Park is taking up the challenge of focusing public attention on these long-neglected park projects. Click here for details about making Guild Park spectacular and sustainable for everyone who visits.
