Thanks to all Community Clean-up Volunteers!

Lots of people came out today (Sat. April 26) to help with the annual Spring Clean-up of Guildwood Village, including Guild Park.

Thanks to everyone who lent a hand to fill up so many garbage bags!

The local Community Clean-up is organized by the Guildwood Village Community Association (GVCA), in partnership with the City of Toronto.

As part of this important initiative, some local gardeners and Friends of Guild Park volunteers spent time removing the man-made garbage from Guild Park's Native Pollinator Garden, near the Sculptor's Cabin.

Experienced gardeners know it's important to avoid raking up leaves and/or remove stems and other "natural debris" from garden areas too early in the year. They don't want to disrupt the beneficial insects and pollinators that overwinter in this ground cover.
