Santa Claus is coming to Guild Park this Saturday evening (Nov. 30).
The jolly old elf is making a special appearance at Guild Park's Gazebo as part of the special Christmas Tree lighting event.
The family fun starts at 7:00 with live music, a craft table for youngsters and lots of hot chocolate and cider - remember to bring your own mug to cut down on paper waste!
Also, you're invited to bring a non-perishable food item for the local food bank.
After some songs and a traditional telling of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, we'll welcome Santa to visit lots of boys and girls.
Then everyone walks over to Guild Park's real Christmas Tree for a countdown as the lights get turned on for the holiday season.
All activities are outside, so be sure to dress warmly for the weather.
This community event is organized by volunteers from the award-winning group, Friends of Guild Park.
The event is free, thanks to the support of:
the Guildwood Village Community Association,
The City of Toronto's Parks, Forestry & Recreation Division,
Guild Inn Estate,
Carol Foderick Real Estate Group, and
Tammy's Your Independent Grocer (Guildwood Plaza).
Community participation is also encouraged.
For those who'd like to volunteer, we have lots of ways to participate: as greeters, Santa's helpers, servers and safety marshals. For details, come to the Guild Park Gazebo by 6:15 that evening. Students, be sure to bring your paperwork to track your volunteer hours.
As well, optional donations are welcome. All proceeds collected go to holding more volunteer-led activities and programs at Guild Park.
Let everyone know about this date with Santa, right here in Guildwood Village. Pass along this message to your family and friends. The fun all starts this Saturday at 7:00 pm at Guild Park, 201 Guildwood Parkway, Scarborough.
