Visit Guild Park tomorrow (Sat. Oct. 17) to check out the free exhibit of vintage postcards from the days of the original Guild Inn.
This collection includes dozens of popular postcards sold to and used by guests and visitors at the Guild Inn as early as the 1930s.
The images include scenes from the historic Guild of All Arts era - from the outdoor blooming gardens and architecture collection, to the interiors of the inn's grand staircase and dining room.

Some postcards show attractions that no longer exist on the site of today's Guild Park. Be sure to check out the pictures of the Great Elm, the spouting fountain and the children's playhouse.
This free exhibit includes both original postcards and printed reproductions. The one-day only event is organized by Friends of Guild Park and the Scarborough Historical Society. The event runs Saturday October 18, from 10 am to 2 pm.
The postcards are on display at Guild Park's Sculptor's Cabin, located near the park's main entrance. Plenty of free parking on-site.
The postcards give a glimpse to an earlier age and provide a historical context of the Guild and the printing companies that produced them - the early cards in sepia or black and white and the later versions printed in bright colours.
As part of the exhibit, visitors can enjoy guided walks to see what the postcard images look like on the park grounds today.
