About the event

Pleasure

as a means,

and then a

means again

with no ends

in sight.

– Eileen Myles

The upcoming session of Tender Possibilities explores the complexity of pleasure, held as a layered, shifting site and multidimensional practice. Together, we will trace how pleasure moves through language, how it resists containment, and how it can act as a politic, a pulse running through the everyday. We will consider how cultural invitations toward disembodiment shape us, and how poetry’s attention, curiosity, and intimacy can return us to the pleasures of language and of being.

This session will be facilitated by Featured Poet, Sanna Wani and Tender Possibilities’ founder, Farhia Tato.

Sanna Wani is the author of My Grief, the Sun (House of Anansi Press, 2022), the winner of the 2023 Trillium Award for Poetry. Her poetry and writing has been published by Brick, Hazlitt, Poem-A-Day among other places. She is a member of the Daybreak Poets Collective. She lives and writes in Toronto.

Tender Possibilities will be serving food from 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm. At 2pm, they will walk deeper into the park and begin the session there!
