Japanese Drummers on Stage at Guild Park

Enjoy the thunderous rhythms of Japanese taiko drums at the Greek Theatre. The popular Nagata Shachu performers return to Guild Park to perform “Celebrate Japan in Scarborough!” Hands-on workshop and concert for all ages. Free. Part of the City of Toronto’s Arts In The Parks 2025 program.

About the event
Bring your lawn chair or blankets to Guild Park's Greek Theatre and enjoy the always popular Nagata Shachu drummers.
Come early and take part in the hands-on, 30-minute workshop, followed by an hour-long drumming performance.
The concert starts with a specially composed piece, "1234Go!", performed by 11 young drummers from Scarborough trained by Nagata Shachu.
Then be thrilled by the powerful beat of dozens of different teiko drums and musical instruments. Definitely not to be missed. One nighl only.
